LOL Ok this is a funny story last night my hubby had on this scary movie about these fairy's that wanted little kids teeth lol anyway when I went to bed I had bad dreams about it and got up at 4am lol so I decided to do a little crafting therapy and alter a coaster lol and this is what I came up with lol she is cute and thinking but the fairy in the bottom left is not really a cute Tinkerbell like fairy lol it looks like a gremlin fairy to me with the way the ears and head are shaped but it made me feel better to make it and then I was able to go back to sleep lol but It was a lot of fun to make and hay even Steven king got his inspiration from his dreams.

Hi things have been crazy for me we went to the lake with the kids Thursday and I've been working on a mini album for a swap I'm in over at mini album scraps. and can't post it because I don't want her to see it until she gets it but I will be doing a clip of it! This delightful little jar usto be one of the Prema flowers jars that comes with the flowers in it! I Mod Podged it with some old song paper I had from a book and then I painted and distressed it I added some Pearls and a hanging charm and a frame charm on the front of it with some bling purl flower I made on the cork! it was a lot of fun to make! How to Make a 3d Dress Form

How to Make a 3d Dress Form

 The first thing you need to do is make a model I used tinfoil but you can use paper or fabric. Mold it to your desired shape.

Next cover the tinfoil with tissue tape or strips of duct tape or masking tape ...I think deco tape looks great 

Once covered I sealed it with some Mod Podge for extra protection next i cut up and tor up all kinds of patterned paper. 

Once done I put several coats of Mod Podge on it to seal it

Then I used a stick and hot glued it inside a cork and then on to the lid of a old plastic tub! 

 Then you can decorate it how ever you want to!

Yesterday I made easel cards for the first time… I’m addicted lol there so much fun!! So I decided to make a matchbox easel card and how cute is this you can put some goodies in the drawers for whoever you send the card too J or you can make mini show box type things  in them either way it’s a great interactive card! Mini in a Box

So much fun! this is my mini in a box! Its a 12x12 folded up to make the mini and then I altered a old box and the mini fits inside it perfectly!

this was a lot of fun to create I made all the flowers on the front of the box from beads and used Mod Podge on the cover and distressed everything.

 I found this beautiful mini cabinet that I'm going to alter like a shadow box or captured fairy lol I haven't decided yet but there will be lots and lots of flowers!

 This is cool I think it might be a old soap dish or something but I'm going to make a mini Album out of it.

 And on to the goodies lol I found all kinds of beaded necklace that can be dismantled and turned in to flowers flower centers or stickpins or just pearls and some fabric flowers to be used in embellishing a mini album or something like that the capabilities are endless!!!

Happy Mothers Day!

Mom, kiara and I.

To day is Mothers Day and I wanted to give a  shout out to my Mom Liz Brown and share some of my memories of her with you all. First she has a blog and its http://tiztime.blogspot.de/ and her you tube is http://www.youtube.com/user/tizabear61 she is so talented!

My mom has been trow alot raising me I wasn't a easy kid. But one thing I do remember is that she was always encouraging me to do better and supporting my artistic abilities I started out coloring and always had crayons and coloring books as I got older I started drawing and she always made sure I had sketch book and paints and things I remember when I had the chicken pocks and she brought me in a box with pompom balls and tacky glue eyeballs and pipe cleaners it was summer and I couldn't go on the last summer day camp trip but I had that box and I made monsters and bugs lol but from then on I've been crafting my first stamp was a stamp with my name on it that she got for me she has always inspired me even today she looks up different things and projects to help keep me busy and even to this day every time I make something she gets a pix in her email of it even if its just a sketch lol 

When I was 17 my Mom signed paperwork allowing me to join the US Army I then went off on my own but she was always there for me. One day I called her from AIT and thanked her for being so hard on me as a kid. When your a kid you don't like rules and things but it helped me throw out my time as a soldier I'm so glad I had discipline. I also realized how much she loved me. 

It wasn't long before I went to Iraq with the 101 in 2003 when I came home I was changed but my mom was there for me when I got off that plain and after the ceremony and they released us the first person I hugged was my mom she has always been there for me when ever the was a life changing event in my life she was there.

 My mom has always been there for me one of my most recent memories I have is when I had my daughter Kiara I was going to be a mom soon and the only person I wanted was my Mom she got to Oklahoma a couple hrs before I went in to emergency surgery to become a mom myself and she went in with me and held my hand and was the first person to see my daughter. she was there 

When I was a kid my mom us to say I'm not your friend I'm your Mother when you grow up and get out on your own then we will be friends. I have to say I wouldn't have it any other way my Mom is my best friend we talk daily when we can and sometimes more then once a day! When your a mom your a mom for life I only hope I can do the same for my kids. Mom thank you for all that you have and will do for me you have always been there for me your my inspiration and biggest motivator my mentor and friend! Happy Mothers Day Mom!

There are so many memories I just tried to pick out the biggest ones but Happy Mothers Day to all the moms out there and have a Happy Scrappy Day! Thanks for stopping by!

Flower Tutorial

Flowers

It's spring time and we are all working on spring and summer time projects we all use flowers so this will be my second flower tutorial these flowers are a lot of fun!

The first thing you will need is a backing and you will need 2 of them roughly  the same size. I used a 1 inch punch but you can cut your own if you don't have one then. I cut about 6-12in strip (I can make 2 with the 12in strip) you will need you hot glue gun or you could use Mighty Mendit but hot glue drys faster. Ok put some glue all over the circle then you will want to  pleat  the fabric around the circle.

Then trim around it to get your desired look

then I used Tulle I hot glued the back and placed strips in a circle around the back and then glued the second backing on this is so you have something flat to glue the flower on to your project later :) then you trim around the Tulle so the Tulle shows up behind the first flower piece until you get your desired look :)

Then pick out your matching lace this should be smaller the the fabric that you used you will then glue plead it around the center of the flower 

You should come up with something like this I'm going to spray it with a glimmer mist I made or you could leave it as is :)

 Then pick out your center this can be anything you want buttons, charms, beads, any thing! I'm using a home made bead center I made.

At the end you have a beautiful looking flower!! You can embellish it with leaves, charms feathers and more ribbon. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and if you need help just leave me a comment and I will get back with you asap.
